Statement

Grief, awe, the mysterious object, the kind of joy that makes you cry; I paint, scratch, and scribble through the expressive, layered processes of printmaking.

Print becomes my ideal form for a big soup of non-linear stories and study of relationships - between shape and color, between self and others - breaking and reconnecting fragments of big feelings into unique images.

These playful meditations stretch repetition and poke at the simplest structures, making a home for the contrasts and nuance held by each of us.

On process and whys: a video essay

A peek at my printmaking process from drawing to printing, along with some thoughts on the way we bridge association and make meaning, in the context of my art practice.

Tikva earned an MFA in Print Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016, and her first solo exhibition in September 2020 at Day & Night Projects, Atlanta, GA. Living and making in Atlanta, GA, adopted hometown.
